Delete your Goafie account in the app or by email — what we remove, what we keep, and how long it takes.

You can permanently delete your Goafie account and the data associated with it at any time. Here's how to do it, what gets removed, what we keep, and how long it takes.

How to delete your account

In the app (fastest): open the Me tab and choose Delete My Account. To confirm, type your @handle (or the word DELETE if you never picked a handle) and tap Permanently Delete My Account. Deletion starts immediately and can't be undone.

By email: email support@goafie.com from the email address on your Goafie account, with the subject line “Delete my account.” If you can, include your account email or @handle so we can locate your account quickly. We'll confirm the request comes from you, permanently delete your account and its associated data, and email you when it's complete.

What gets deleted

Deleting your account permanently removes:

Your profile and sign‑in account: name, @handle, email, and avatar;
Your trips: flights, hotels and stays, dates, places, seats, notes, and confirmation numbers;
Photos and files you uploaded, including trip photos, boarding passes, review photos, and feedback screenshots;
Your loyalty memberships and calendar connections (including the access tokens we stored — to remove Goafie's access completely, also remove it in your Google or Microsoft account settings);
Your travel statistics, status, and year‑in‑review (except the cached airport‑visit summary listed below);
Your friend connections, friend requests, share links, and reactions; and
Your notification and app preferences.

Events Goafie added to your calendar (which can include your seat and booking code) stay in your calendar until you delete them there.

What we keep

Some information is not removed when your account is deleted:

Reviews you posted stay visible with your name, @handle, ratings, and text and, for airline reviews, the flight number, route, and date (their photos are removed; a profile photo that came from Google may still show). Email us and we'll remove them.
Safety and support records: reports, block records, feedback tickets (including the device details sent with them), and aircraft‑photo update reports. We keep these only as long as we need them to handle abuse and support, and we review and delete records we no longer need at least once a year.
A record of the deletion: your account ID, email address, @handle, and any reason you gave for leaving, kept only as long as we need it to confirm the deletion and handle follow‑up questions (we review and delete records we no longer need at least once a year).
Technical records: file names and storage references for flight photos (the photos themselves are deleted), your per‑flight photo‑sharing settings (which friends you shared with) and friends' settings that list your account ID, custom hotels you added, a cached summary of your recent airport visits, push‑token records, and Calendar Sync AI logs until they expire after about 30 days. Apart from the AI logs, we keep these only as long as we need them, and we review and delete records we no longer need at least once a year.
Data held by our providers, such as analytics, crash, ad‑measurement, and subscription records, which they keep under their own retention periods. Email us and we'll ask them to delete data about you where they support it.
Anything we must keep by law, or to resolve disputes and prevent fraud.

Subscriptions: your purchase records are held by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) and our subscription provider, RevenueCat. Deleting your Goafie account does not cancel an active subscription. Cancel it in your App Store or Google Play account first to avoid further charges.

How long it takes

Deleting your account in the app starts right away. We complete email requests within 30 days, and usually much sooner.
